The Invisible Backpack is Too Heavy- Let’s Drop It
The advice my amazing mom would always give me, “drop the backpack of regrets, it is weighing you down.” I have carried it so long, and maybe you have too, full of “if only’s” but finally I have gained such power and assurance though seeing my kids blossom. Whatever I was carrying must have been necessary, but no it is not. Homeschooling is a magical, unbelievable and all-encompassing ride and is worth every moment. So I am giving you permission to put down the backpack, instead give yourself a pat on the back for being so brave.
The packet I found in the back of the drawer
Personality tests are helpful, sometimes, but tuning in to find out what resonates with your own soul is the real key. My test was SO accurate but when I took it, the timing was off. I was like, “yes I agree but how??” I put it in the back of a drawer for later. It is now later, 7 years to be exact.
The Stoic Classroom (Justice)
Justice, one of the fours major virtues of Stoicism and a principle of Kairos Learning. I don’t just say, ok we talk about justice, instead we weave it in all the time.
The Stoic Classroom (Wisdom)
It All Begins Here, passing on wisdom is not a monumental, formal or rigid process but rather it should be filled with joy and excitement. My passion for getting the privilege of spending time with the kids is part of what makes it work so well. We weave Stoic principles into everything we do, and wisdom sharing is of course where it all starts. I challenge them to see themselves as being scholars.
