The Invisible Backpack is Too Heavy- Let’s Drop It

Last week, we talked about how your biggest problems are actually just clues. But what about the things that weigh you down every day? Have you ever had those moments in life where you see your own failing, the blunder that you made and instantly feel - I should have known better?”

I have had them in spades. I carried an invisible backpack for so long, it was heavy and filled with stones of shame, of regret for making mistakes... I was so convinced I needed to carry it to somehow define who I was, to justify my playing small... And the worst part? It hindered my confidence to teach my child.

You may also relate to feeling that “if there is one thing I would like to impart to my child it is this - to not carry a backpack like I did.” And in that knowing, you are best equipped to teach them even better.

I say all this to remind you that releasing the weight and fully embracing your past as compost for your future is key. The goal is to parent and teach with intention, with “trust and curiosity.” And mistakes are learning, they are living and you are here to teach your child how to do the living.

If you don’t feel fully confident and competent, welcome to the club! I have walked the path, I am making up the path! And so is everyone else. You will know what is best for your child. Intentional parenting, whether in homeschool or just in home life is the most important gift you can give them.

If you are ready to drop that invisible backpack and step into this new way of modeling confidence for your child, reply to this email with the word “RELEASE” and I will send you the 7 immediate actions you can take to lighten your load this week.”
